mi-chap summit 2016: making the difference with families, providers and the health care system

The MI-CHAP Summit will raise awareness about MI-CHAP's mission and goal while sharing and celebrating in MI-CHAPs progress thus far. Join us, as we provide relevant networking and professional development opportunities for MI-CHAP staff and stakeholders and engage MI-CHAP staff, stakeholders and interested parties in developing what's next for MI-CHAP - now and into the future.



Anyone interested in promoting the long-term health of Michigan’s children is encouraged to attend!

Workshops will be available for: Newcomers to MI-CHAP, MI-CHAP staff & stakeholders, Michigan 2-1-1 staff, Legislators, Community-Based Organizations, and the Health Care Community, including Medical Directors, Health Care Providers, and Health Plan staff.

Sessions will include:

  • CHAP for Newcomers
  • Practice Engagement Best Practices
  • Patient Centered Medical Homes: How CHAP can help meet HEDIS objectives
  • CHAP and Population Health Basics: How CHAP improves overall population health, including special populations

Keynote speakers

We're proud to announce that Dr. Herman Gray, MD, will be the Keynote Speaker at the 2016 MI-CHAP Summit. Dr. Gray is the President and CEO of United Way for Southeastern Michigan, an organization dedicated to improving lives and communities across Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties each day. 

Before Dr. Gray's appointment to United Way, he served as the executive vice president of pediatric health services at the Detroit Medical Center (DMC). Prior to this role, Dr. Gray served as the DMC Children’s Hospital of Michigan (CHM) president and chief executive officer for eight years, after serving as the chief operating officer and chief of staff.
